For Sale by Owner

As Nathan grew up he learned that the only thing not for sale in his dad's mind was Nathan's mom, himself and his sisters. When we first got married Nathan adopted a little of that same mind set and I had to sell my Maxima and get a old beater, which was for sale as soon as we purchased it. After such a bad decision things slowed down for us in the Young house and our items were not for sale any more. Enter Craigslist. Now as soon as we buy things Nathan is out taking a million pictures of it to place it on Craigslist. Now we own a Jetta, a dodge Cummins and a Frito Lay Van all up for sale...if the right price came by. Also he has considered putting our barn on Craigslist. Happy shopping!!
Now I am beginning to wonder why he took this picture of us.....

Swiming Day!

Yesterday I took Parker swimming in our back yard. He seemed to enjoy it after he got used to the water. I let the water warm up for two hours in the sun but it was still a little cold. Parkers favorite thing was to lean over the side and play with the grass while his feet floated in the water. I held him up the whole time of course. His swimming suit is still a little big, but he should grow into it. Parker wasn't so sure about the pool at first. So he set outside of it for a few min after a while we tried again and he seemed to enjoy it.

Happy Fathers Day.

On Saturday our little family headed to the mall to buy fathers day gifts for our dads and for Nathan. I am sad to report that Nathan no longer gets surprises do to returning the items after Christmas for two years in a row after specifically asking for the item in the first place. How do you get buyers remorse when you are not the one to buy the item? Any way after our purchasing decisions were made for Nathan and my dad, I wanted to go check out the children's clothes for Parker. Unfortunately when we got there everything cute had been taken. Well everything but this little gem...
Nathan didn't give me a choice, It was on sale and too good to pass up. Plus it was his extra fathers day gift. Poor, poor Parker had to go around looking like this on Sunday just so his dad could get a couple of laughs. Oh I almost forgot the one other thing that was on sale.
This onesie had now been donated to Parker's cousin Cecelia but for four minutes Parker was proud to be wearing pink...well not really
Something tells me he didn't find his Dad as funny as Nathan found himself.

Dear Aubree

Last night you and Dave stopped by our house while you were on a motorcycle ride and Nathan and I were outside doing yard work. While you were there Parker woke up from his nap and you volunteered to go in and get him. After you left we came back inside and I realized that my kitchen looked like this.Since Parker has been born I have usually had a really good habit of doing the dishes right after dinner. Last night however I didn't do them. I stay home all day long and I usually try to do the dishes twice a day. Still sometimes at the end of the day the house is a mess and I don't know where the time has gone. Well anyway Aubree here is a picture of my clean kitchen...OK now I feel tons better. I know you don't really care what my kitchen looks like but you asked for a new post and now you have two!!!

Bath Time!!!

Since Nathan blogged about how 80's taking a bath is I've decided to post Parkers bathing pictures. When Parker was first born he had colic and usually his baths would give us a glimpse of the happy baby that he is now. Parker loves splashing around in the bath tub. This last picture was taken a few weeks ago. The first one was when he was a month old. I think it might be time for him to graduate from the sink.

Cake Decorating

In May I took a Cake Decorating class every Wednesday with my sister in law Rachel. It was so much fun! By the end of the classes we were able to make a rose. We want to take the second and third classes this fall after all of our fun summer vacations. This past Wednesday I found myself a little sad because there was no class to go to.
We learned how to make little animals for cupcakes. This is a dinosaur if you can't tell. We also learned elephants, pigs, baby chicks.
I made these flowers and let them dry overnight and then put them around my final cake. I was excited with how well it turned out. This was my last project. If you look close enough you can see where Nathan though about cutting into it the night before, before I was finished with decorating it. I'm so excited for Parkers birthday, He is going to have the coolest cake ever. Hey I might even make my own birthday cake this year!!!
